The 20AS support insulators are intended for to be used in indoor systems operated at voltage levels of up to 25 kV.

The respective variants to the support insulator, identified by its type designation 20 AS (i.e. 20AN -1, 20AN -2), differ each from the other in the location and dimensions of embedded elements.

The support insulators have been tested at the „EGÚ HV Laboratory a. s.“ accredited laboratory.

The 20AS insulator complies with the requirements of IEC 60660, IEC 273, GOST 28739-90 standards.

The design may be varied according to the customer needs and requirements.

An insulator is intented to isolate and insulate specific structural parts of an electric equipment operated at various voltage levels. The insulator allows for mechanical connection of parts on various voltage levels, without establishing a conductive bond between them.

Due to their properties the support insulators allow for safe construction of electric switchgear systems designed to withstand high mechanical stresses caused by short-circuit currents.

The body of a supporting insulator is made from epoxi resin which provideds for its heat, mechanical and electrical stability.

The embedded elements used to retain the screws are made from brass. The corresponding torque values are shown in Table 1.
